BUILDING work for a boys school is well under way.
A turf cutting ceremony marked the start of work at the site for the new Langley Park School for Boys, South Eden Park Road, Beckenham.
When it is completed it will include a 500-seater performance centre, classrooms, a nine-court sports hall and playing field.
Speaking at the ceremony, the portfolio holder for children and young people Councillor Ernest Noad said: “The rebuild will shine like a beacon with its new facilities.
“I should like to praise everyone concerned from the council, the school and contractors for their determination to see the project through.
“Now we can look forward to coming back next year when it’s finished to enjoy a wide range of music, singing, drama and dance.”
