A 13-YEAR-OLD girl has been arrested on suspicion of manslaughter after a fatal crash on the A20.
Michael Baker, aged 47, from Littlehampton, West Sussex, died after the recovery truck he was a passenger in collided with a stationary articulated lorry on the A20 on Saturday (July 24).
The crash, which took place near the Swanley interchange at around 10.40am, happened after the lorry driver had pulled over when something hit his windscreen, cab and the side of the vehicle.
A 10-year-old boy was arrested on Tuesday and two boys, aged 12 and 15, were arrested the following day (July 28).
A 13 year-old girl has been arrested today (July 30).
All four were arrested on suspicion of manslaughter and have been bailed while inquiries continue.
Chief Inspector Adrian Futers said: "It is our duty to the loved ones of Michael Baker to find out how and why he died.
"I would like to thank the public for their understanding and co-operation so far and to appeal for anyone who knows anything about this incident to call us.
"Whilst we have a good understanding as to who was there at the relevant time we need to speak to people who saw a group of young people who may have been walking towards or in the area of the underpass at the end of Laburnum Avenue last Saturday morning, equally anyone who saw a group leaving the area."
Police are appealing for a boy to come forward who may have vital information.
He is described as white, aged in his mid-teens, and the witness believes he was wearing a brown-coloured top which had contrasting lighter sleeves between the elbow and cuff.
Chief Inspector Futers said: "Detectives believe it is possible that the brown top could also have been a short-sleeved brown T-shirt.
"We want to speak to this boy as he may have vital information that will assist us in understanding how Mr Baker died."
Anyone with information should call the incident room on 01622 654853 or crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
