POLICE officers are visiting communities in week-long campaigns to tackle issues raised by residents.
This summer officers from Kent police are going to different areas in Gravesham, listening to people’s concerns, and then spending each day of the week taking on a different challenge.
Supported by staff from Gravesham Councils, as well as criminals on the community payback scheme, their work includes seizing alcohol, speed checks and litter-picks.
Inspector Mike Coltham, head of neighbourhood policing in Gravesham, said: “This is about bringing all the agencies together and working on issues that matter to the people living there.”
Officers have already visited Riverside and Coldharbour, are in Westcourt this week, and will be in Meopham from August 16 and Shorne, Cobham and Luddesdown from September 13.
