A SUPERMARKET is aiming to recycle 150,000 mobile phone chargers - the equivalent weight of five double-decker buses.
Sainsbury’s in Beckenham High Street has set customers the four-week target after the supermarket chain introduced phone charger recycling banks at all of its stores across the country.
Store manager Dean Mengual said: “Sainsbury’s stores aim to make a positive difference to the local community so we are looking for Beckenham customers to support this month-long recycling initiative.
“With your support, we really can not just make a difference to our draw space, but ultimately, we can reduce landfill waste. Our colleagues can’t wait to support this event in store.”
