PRIZES have been dished out to owners of an area’s greatest gardens.
Cray Meadows Community Forum and the London and Quadrant housing association held a Crays in Bloom competition to award prizes in four categories - gardens, balconies, hanging baskets and pots or tubs.
Nearly 2,000 homes were viewed and each winner was given a certificate and vouchers in recognition of their hard work.
Competition organisers claim it was a difficult decision this year and plan to broaden next year’s contest to involve schools in the area.
Winner of the best balcony category Ray Springett, aged 65, of Chambers Avenue, said: “We were very pleased.
“I think we won because we’ve got a bit of everything in there.”
