COMMUNITY groups have received grants to help them continue their work to improve the lives of people in their area.
Gravesham Council awarded a total of £4,100 to 10 groups during a ceremony at the Civic Centre in Windmill Street, Gravesend, on July 26.
Organisations which recevied a grant include Gravesend’s 402 Squadron Air Training Corps, Gravesend and District Theatre Guild and Gravesham Girls Football Club.
The money was awarded as part of the council’s Community Chest programme, which gives grants to organisations which benefit the borough.
A council spokeswoman said the grants are a “well deserved thank you to the community groups for their commitment to people living in the borough”.
