A RECORD number of people flocked to a borough for a free seven-day festival of live entertainment.
More than 35,000 people turned out for Gravesham Council’s Big 7 Festival this year, which smashed the previous attendance record of 20,000 set last year.
The festival included an outdoor cinema screening and culminated with The Big Day Out live concert on July 24, which featured Britain’s Got Talent dance group Taboo.
Council cabinet member for communities Councillor David Turner said: “This year’s Big 7 and Big Day Out Festival attracted a record number of people to our wonderful borough.
“They not only enjoyed great live music and entertainment, but also got to see some of the borough’s best assets such as the AdiZone and its local sports, arts and heritage organisations.”
