A MOTORIST who was seriously injured in a crash on the A20 has died in hospital.
He was travelling in a car recovery truck when it collided with a green Scania articulated lorry just past the Swanley interchange.
Emergency services were called to the scene on the London bound carriageway at around 10.40am on Saturday (July 24) and he was taken to Queen Mary’s Hospital, Sidcup.
The casualty was then transferred to the Royal London Hospital, Whitechapel, where he later died from his injuries.
Police have not yet released the man’s name but say he was in his 40s and from Littlehampton, West Sussex.
The other person in the yellow Iveco truck was also taken to Queen Mary’s Hospital.
The nature of his injuries is not yet known and it is also not known whether the lorry driver needed medical treatment.
Officers from Kent police’s serious collision investigation unit closed the carriageway while they investigated the crash.
The road reopened at 9pm the same day.
