A PC is to stand trial after being accused of lying about her claims she was beaten unconscious during a routine vehicle check.
Kent police’s PC Frances Croucher, aged 27, has been charged with wasting police time and will face a two-day trial at Maidstone Crown Court on December 13 and December 14.
This follows her claims she was attacked by the occupants of a van she stopped during a check in Crockenhill Road, Swanley, on January 14.
At the time of the incident it was reported PC Croucher, from Maidstone, had been knocked unconscious but had not sustained life-threatening injuries.
Kent police has suspended PC Croucher, and she has been granted bail until the trial begins.
