PEOPLE are being asked to keep an eye on the borough’s wildlife during the hot weather.
Bexley Council is advising residents to make sure their bird baths have clean water, or even to create their own out of an upturned bin lid or deep tray.
People should also avoid watering their garden during a hot sunny day as most of the water will simply evaporate and the water can damage plant leaves in the searing sun.
Heat speeds up the over ripening of fruit so rather than throwing it away or putting it in a compost bin people can put it out for the birds to eat instead.
