PUPILS enjoyed an exclusive book reading during a school trip to a dogs home.
Children from Darrick Wood Infant School, Lovibonds Avenue, Orpington, toured Battersea Dogs & Cats Home, Brands Hatch, and were read an extract from Chester’s Story.
The book is part of a series inspired by former Battersea canine residents and each follows a family who rehomes a puppy.
Teacher Amy Seare said: “The books were very popular with my class.
“Animal stories always go down well and it is fantastic to also educate the children about the importance of being a responsible owner.
“These books get the message across in a fun way which really engages them.”
