YOUNGSTERS who have overcome difficulties, worked hard and done their best, gathered to receive their awards after being nominated by others.
A hundred and ten students from Bexley schools gathered at the Orchard Theatre in Dartford, to be presented with their Jack Petchey Achievement awards.
As well as medallions and framed certificates, each pupil received £200 for their school.
Six adults also received leader awards for their efforts in motivating young people to do well.
Entertainment for the event was provided by students from Townley Grammar School, Oakwood School and Bexley Business Academy, and guests included acting borough commander Superintendent Glyn Jones and Bexley mayor councillor Val Clark.
The Jack Petchey awards scheme provides more than £30,000 each year to Bexley schools.
