A COUPLE celebrated their diamond wedding anniversary with a surprise party.
Bob, 85, and June Gardiner, 83, have known each other since they were school children and have always lived in the area.
They were married in Christ Church 60 years ago and have lived in their home at Trenchard Street, Greenwich, since 1968.
Mr Gardiner, a former banker and his wife, a former office worker, celebrated with a surprise party organised by their only daughter Julia and attended by 55 well wishers.
Mrs Gardiner said: “We’ve had arguments but we’ve always managed to get over them.
“We still think a lot of each other - the feelings for one another have not changed much over the years.”
