ENERGY company E.ON has donated £1,820 to a hospice which cared for the terminally ill wife of one of its employees.
EllenorLions Hospice received the money from E.On after engineer Kevin Braine, 47, nominated the Northfleet charity for a grant from the company’s Employee Community Fund.
Mr Braine, who works at the Kingsnorth Power Station, wanted to thank the hospice in Coldharbour Road for its care for his wife Lyn, who died from kidney cancer earlier this year aged 53.
The hospice for terminally ill people will use the grant to buy equipment to help stimulate patients with sensory and neurological impairment.
Mr Braine, of Orchard Road, Swanscombe, said: “The hospice has cared for my mother and my wife and I’m very proud to be able to present them with this cheque.”
