A SERIES of strikes on the DLR have been called off by a union.
The Rail, Maritime and Transport (RMT) union dropped its planned industrial action after an improved offer by Serco Group, which operates the rail line.
Union leaders are now putting the new pay offer to a ballot of their members and is recommending they accept it.
A 24-hour walk out had been planned for July 23, July 27 and August 6.
The dispute was over plans to introduce a third carriage to trains, with the union claiming members would face more work and responsibility without extra pay.
General secretary Bob Crowe said: "Our members have stood firm and delivered an overwhelming mandate for action which has enabled us to negotiate this new and improved offer from a position of strength."
