IT was a chance for the community to get together and find out about the help and support on offer in the area and to have some fun.
The Greenmead Community Centre in Lime Row, Thamesmead, was also promoting the work of the Feel Good Co-op which offers a variety of complementary therapies, which they demonstrated on the day.
There was free healthy food, cooked by Alis Osman from Snack Shack, music and entertainment, face painting and a Tai Chi demonstration by Thamesmead resident Dorothy Ng.
The local police and and Neighbourhood Watch gave advice on how to stay safe during the summer months and there was a member of Bexley Care Trust’s health trainer scheme to explain the project, as well as Toyin Ogunbanjo who gave details about the Abbey Wood Listening Ears counselling scheme.
