PUPILS from an after-school learning centre have been celebrating their achievements.
Youngsters from Orpington Kumon centre, based in Crofton Halls, were awarded certificates for their progress in English and maths.
Around 100 students and their parents attended the ceremony where centre instructor Wendy Blair presented them with gold, silver and bronze certificates.
The awards are given to students who area above the normal level for their age group in reading, writing and arithmetic.
Kumon is an organisation that uses techniques developed in Japan to improve students’ academic performance.
Ms Blair said: “We deal with a complete mixture of abilities and our pupils represent every corner of the globe.
“The children were all really excited about getting their prizes.”
