A MULTI-MILLION pound sport scheme has been launched by the Mayor of London.
The Big Summer of Sport is designed to get more Londoners fit and active in the build up to the 2012 Olympic games.
Residents in Lewisham and Greenwich will have the chance to try out a huge range of sports throughout July, August and September.
These include free cricket coaching at Catford Wanderers cricket club in Beckenham Hill Road, Lewisham, and free swimming Lessons in The Arches Leisure Centre in Greenwich.
London Mayor Boris Johnson said: "We want to inspire and encourage more Lewisham and Greenwich residents to get active and have a go for themselves - particularly the youngsters who could be this country's sporting stars of the future."
