TWO new secondary schools planned for Bexley will go ahead, despite a government announcement axing school building programmes across the country.
Bexley Council has confirmed the borough was mistakenly included in a list of authorities whose planned new schools, being financed under the Building Schools for the Future programme, would not be going ahead.
Two new academies have recently opened in Bexley, both of which will get new buildings under the government’s academies programme.
They are at the former Westwood College in Welling, now the Harris Academy Falconwood, and the secondary phase of the new Haberdashers Aske’s Crayford Academy in Iron Mill Lane, Crayford.
