AN online petition has started to halt reductions in an iconic market’s food stalls.
Greenwich Hospital, which runs Greenwich Market, plans to reduce the number of hot food stalls from 12 to five or six.
Current stall holders have been given notice to quit and apply for a new space in the George II area of the market.
So far 154 people have signed the Save Our Food Court petition at ipetitions.com/petition/foodcourt/
But Greenwich Hospital property manager Jane Rowson said: “We just feel like the hot food has taken over a lot of the market. We want to bring it back to being more arts and crafts focussed.”
She said the six stalls would be decided according to quality, presentation and originality.
