COOKING left on a stove caused a fire in a Catford flat this morning (July 16).
Firefighters were called to the home in Sangley Road at around 4am to put out the flames.
A man in his 40s and a woman in her 60s managed to get themselves out of the property.
They were said to be suffering from mild smoke inhalation.
The fire crews from Lewisham and Forest Hill were at the flat for around an hour.
