TWO university professors have cycled from Brussels to London for charity.
Neil Garrod and Tom Barnes, both deputy vice-chancellors at the University of Greenwich, took on the mammoth challenge to raise cash for the university's Alumni Development Fund, which helps students in serious financial hardship.
They met in the Belgian capital on July 4 to watch the finale of the second stage of the Tour de France before their journey to England began.
Three days later they arrived at the university's campus for a celebratory barbecue with friends and family, having raised £1,815.
Prof Garrod said: “Tom’s company was inspirational during the ride. By the time we reached Blackheath I was really getting into it and I could certainly do it again."
