UNLIKE many students in the borough who are awaiting their A level results, some students at one Bexley school already know how well they have done.
Pupils at Bexley Grammar School, in Danson Lane, Welling, can choose between A levels and the International Baccalaureate (IB) and the IB results have just been published.
The IB requires students to study six subjects to a standard or higher level in a mixture of assessed work and exams.
Students have to gain at least 24 points to qualify for their IB diploma.
This year, Bexley Grammar School’s average points mark was more than 35, compared to the worldwide average score of around 29.5.
Two students, 18-year-olds Peggy Luong and David MacDougal gained the maximum 45 points achievable.
Last year there were only 86 candidates in the whole world who achieved maximum points.
Another 18-year-old, Matthew Cullum, gained 44 points and a maximum seven points in all of his academic subjects making him one of the top 0.3 per cent candidates worldwide.
