THE number of people unemployed in Bromley has fallen in the last quarter.

Figures released today by the Department for Work and Pensions reveal the rate of unemployment in the borough has dropped by 0.3 per cent.

In March there were 5,714 people out of work however this has now decreased to 5,104 claiming Job Seeker’s Allowance, which represents 2.8 per cent of people in the borough eligible to work.

Employment Minister Chris Grayling said: “There is still a huge amount of work to do to revitalise the economy and create an environment where businesses are growing and employing people again.”
