THIS year’s efforts by one Bexley school’s GCSE and A level art students went under the hammer following a public exhibition of their work.
More than 250 pieces of work from landscapes and photography to 3D and video installations were on show in the 2006 gallery at Townley Grammar School for Girls, Townley Road, Bexleyheath.
There were also two awards sponsored by Bexleyheath’s Marriott Hotel.
Rebecca Platt won the A2 prize for her installation based on London bridges while the AS prize went to Eliza Stuart for her work entitled Conflict, Organic, Discarded.
Nadine Ijewere won the photography prize for her fashion photography.
All the prizes were art books.
During the viewing, there was a silent auction for the work, to raise money for the artists and finance future exhibitions.
Headteacher Desmond Deehan said: “Our students have demonstrated flair and creative independence in producing work which challenges and provokes us.”
