THE A2 in Kent has reopened after a fire led to it being closed for three hours.
The fire broke out at a breakers yard at Watling Street, Bean, shortly 10am this morning.
Kent Fire and Rescue responded to a report of a fire involving two lorries, four cars and part of a workshop.
Three fire appliances and a water unit were sent to the scene.
Due to a large quantity of smoke and concerns an acetylene cylinder may have been involved, a 200m exclusion zone was put in place.
All lanes of the A2 were closed in both directions between the Bean interchange and the Ebbsfleet slip road.
The road was reopened and the cordon removed at 1pm. Queues were being reported in the area.
No-one is believed to have been be injured in the blaze.
