A FREE sports programme will help the area's disabled people stay active.
The disabled sports charity, Interactive, is using a £340,000 Mayor of London grant to boost disabled facilities at ongoing free sport projects across the capital.
These include cricket taster sessions at the Haka Sport Complex in Lewisham and badminton coaching at Lewisham's The Bridge leisure centre.
The charity has set itself the target of ensuring that at least 10 per cent of the people involved in these schemes are disabled.
Interactive chief executive Stewart Lucas said “We hope other providers and funders will apply a minimum target as a starting point to get more disabled people active in the capital.”
