BEXLEY Care Trust has announced changes in the way it runs some of its community healthcare services.
But it says people who receive them will not notice any difference in the care they receive.
The changes relate to the management of the services such as district nursing, health visiting and therapies.
South London Healthcare Trust (SLHT) has taken over the management of specialist children’s services, while Oxleas NHS Trust has taken on the management of all other commnuty health services.
SLHT will take responsibility for services for children such as community paediatrics, speech and language services, audiology and eye clinic and is also opening a child development centre for Bexley’s disabled children.
Oxleas says its new role will end the “artificial divide between physical and mental health needs”.
