A MURDERER who killed a gay man and tried to kill his partner has failed in an appeal against his sentence.
David Kilcullen was locked up for a minimum of 32 years for a knife attack which left 59-year-old Gerry Edwards dead and 57-year-old Chris Bevan fighting for his life.
Kilcullen, aged 47, of The Avenue, Bickley, had attacked the pair at Mr Edwards’ home in nearby Page Heath Villas.
Aids sufferer Mr Edwards was stabbed in his chest four times by the jobless alcoholic on March 3 last year.
Kilcullen was given a life sentence after being found guilty of murder and attempted murder.
Following the Old Bailey sentencing last December, Kilcullen launched an appeal to get his jail term reduced.
But at the Court of Appeal, Mr Justice Griffith-Williams dismissed the claim.
