AROUND 2,000 lost items have been handed into bus garages and train stations across the borough in the last year.

Among the objects handed in were a total of 342 bags, 320 books, 292 items of clothing, 265 phones and 145 keys.

There are approximately 200,000 items from across the capital in Transport for London’s lost property office, with an increase of nearly 15,000 on the previous year.

TfL’s lost property office manager Julie Haley said: “If someone loses a bag, mobile phone or any belongings, please check with us because we may just have it.

“Whatever you have lost, always report it as one of your fellow travellers may well have hand it in to us.”
