YOUNGSTERS are celebrating after a council chose their designs for new recycling bins.
Artmongers, artists which specialise in public art, worked with young people from Leander Community Centre Youth Club in Ship Street, Deptford, to create the designs.
The bins will be placed on Tanners Hill in Deptford at the junction of Heald Street and Albyn Road.
Cash was awarded from the Lewisham Council Mayor’s Fund, which provides £50,000 to each local assembly over two years for community projects.
Artmongers, based in Creekside, Deptford, received £4,250 from the Brockley assembly to develop the new bins.
Anyone who lives, works or studies in Brockley can attend assembly meetings to discuss issues in the area.
