AN AWARD winning garden from the Chelsea Flower Show is now on display in the borough.
The gold medal seaside garden, which was designed by Adam Woolcott and Jonathon Smith in 2008, has been recycled and rebuilt in Mayow Park, Sydenham.
A community growing project is also taking place in the park, which supports the Mayor of Lewisham Sir Steve Bullock’s campaign to create 60 community food growing gardens throughout Lewisham by 2012.
The gardens have been built by Envirowork Lewisham, which provides employment and training for long-term unemployed people aged between 18 and 24.
Open Garden Squares Weekend will be taking place on Saturday (June 12) and Sunday (June 13) at Culverley Green in Culverley Road, Devonshire Road Wildlife Garden in Forest Hill and the nursery in Mayow Park.
