A BUS will be parked outside a leisure centre with information and advice designed to help the elderly stay safe.

As part of national Elder Abuse Awareness Day a Lewisham Council bus will be at Bellingham Lifestyle Leisure Centre in Randlesdown Road, Bellingham on June 15 between 11am and 4pm.

Residents will be able to learn about local services for elderly and vulnerable people, as well as advice on anti-burglary systems, how to stay safe on public transport and how to avoid falling victim to bogus callers.

Experts will also be on hand to speak about how to deal with anti-social behaviour and who to call if you are a victim of crime.

For more information, call the Lewisham Council community safety team on 020 8314 8010.
