THE FAMILY of a little girl who suffers from cerebral palsy is still counting the pennies after exceeding their fundraising target.
Libby Lee’s family have so far raised £72,000, which will pay for her to have a selective dorsal rhizotomy operation in July.
The operation costs £55,000 and will help ease the stiffness in her legs.
Libby’s mum Toni, said: “We now know Libby is going to get the best possible care and it is more than we ever dreamed of.”
The cash is already being put to good use and has allowed Libby to increase her conductive education therapy, which costs £55 an hour.
Before, the family could only afford fortnightly treatment, but now she is having two additional sessions per week.
