FAMILIES enjoyed demonstrations and workshops at the opening of a refurbished martial arts club.
The Shaolin Temple Academy was previously open once a week in leisure centres across the borough but now has a permanent address in Sandling Rise, New Eltham.
It is the first full time Shaolin martial arts academy in south east London offering 36 hours of training a week and is open for six days.
More than 80 people attended the opening of the academy, which is a non profit organisation dedicated to the practise of Chinese martial arts and Chinese culture.
Classes on offer include Shaolin Kung Fu, Chinese Kick Boxing and Tai Chi.
The club received £20,000 from the Prince's Trust charity and other organisations to refurbish the building and open the academy.
