A PC has been charged with wasting police time after claims she was beaten unconscious during a routine vehicle check.
Kent police have suspended PC Frances Croucher, 27, and she has been bailed to appear at Sevenoaks Magistrates’ Court on June 28.
This follows claims she was attacked by the occupants of a van she stopped during a check in Crockenhill Road, Swanley, on January 14.
At the time of the incident it was reported PC Croucher, from Maidstone, had been knocked unconscious but had not sustained life-threatening injuries.
A Kent police spokeswoman said it would be inappropriate to give more details of the case while legal proceedings are ongoing.
