BEXLEY’S Town and PubSafe schemes have scooped a national award.
The schemes aim to gather, collate and share information about crimes and disorder in the borough’s town centres and pubs, to make them safer and more attractive places to live, visit and work.
Sponsored by Professional Security magazine, the schemes won the Partnership Excellence award for "work in partnership, expansion and development programme and for having made a significant reduction in retail crime and community safety, through intelligent co-operation with the business community".
John Whatling, Bexley Townsafe manager received the award from magazine editor Mark Rowe and Lord Dear, chairman of Action Against Business Crime.
