SCHOOLCHILDREN took part in a crime conference involving police officers and a court judge.
Greenwich police officers joined representatives form the probation service as well as Woolwich Crown Court's Judge Charles Byers to help teach Year 8 pupils about the justice system.
The event at Woolwich Polytechnic secondary school in Hutchins Road, Thamesmead, was organised by teachers and the local safer schools team to highlight the dangers of becoming involved in crime.
Issues such as knife crime and anti-social behaviour were on the agenda with questions including “why do you think more young people are carrying knives?” and “what do I do if my friend is carrying a knife?” being put to officers.
