DOG owners are being offered a free eye test for their pets.
Barrier Animal Care Clinic in Eastmoor Place, Charlton, is providing the service throughout June to help prevent ‘dry-eye’ or keratoconjunctivitis sicca in dogs.
The condition reduces and eventually stops tear production, which can lead to permanent blindness.
Signs indicating dry-eye include red and inflamed eyes, discharge from the eyes, dry looking eyes and pigment on the surface of the eye.
Pets diagnosed with the condition will require treatment for the rest of their lives in the form of an ointment which prevents further destruction of the tear glands.
To book a check up, call the clinic on 0208 293 6580.
