A SENIOR firefighter has been presented with a long service and good conduct award marking two decades in the fire service.
The London Fire Brigade’s Deputy Assistant Commissioner, Dominic Ellis, began his training in 1989 and went on to serve at fire stations across the capital including Erith, Knightsbridge, Hammersmith and Whitechapel.
Mr Ellis, of Anerley Park, Crystal Palace, received a medal for his long service at the fire brigade’s training centre in Southwark.
The 41-year-old says he would recommend a career in the fire service to anyone.
He said: “It’s a great career and it gives me enormous satisfaction to serve the public and to be doing something that contributes to their safety.”
