FOOD safety is on the menu for a council as it aims to teach people about culinary hygiene.
Gravesham Council has set up a stall in the Civic Centre in Windmill Street, Gravesend, to mark Food Safety Week, which begins on Monday (June 7) and ends on Sunday.
A team of experts will be offering free advice on food storage and preparation, and there is a display about the topic.
A council spokeswoman said: “Food hygiene in the home is particularly important during the summer months when levels of food poisoning soar.
“There are around 120,000 extra cases of illness recorded across the UK when the weather is warmest.”
