PRIMARY school children have been fundraising for a children’s hospice.
Pupils aged three to 11 at Rockcliff Manor School in Bassant Road, Plumstead, raised £1,000 for Demelza Hospice Care for Children.
The whole school, which has 255 youngsters, took part in non-uniform days and a spring hat competition to raise the cash.
Nursery children also took part in a sponsored trike ride and year six students held a collection after their school play.
Headteacher Maria Vinante said: “Each year the school chooses one charity to support but since the project to build Demelza House in Eltham was first brought to our attention we have taken it to our hearts.
“The children have been able to empathise with those using Demelza and been enthusiastic fundraisers.”
