POLICE are warning motorists of serious delays on the M20 after a crash earlier this afternoon.

Several vehicles are said to have collided at junction one of the coastbound carriageway at around 3.40pm.

Kent police is advising motorists to avoid the M25/ M20 interchange area.

A spokeswoman said: "Both carriageways of the M20 between junctions one and two are closed and are expected to remain so for several hours.

"South East Coast Ambulance Service is attending.

"It is reported there are serious injuries."
