POLICE are appealing for information after a 23-year-old man was attacked.
It happened at 12.40am on May 20 in Lewisham Road, Lewisham, near the junction with Blackheath Rise.
The victim was punched and kicked by a group of male attackers until he was unconscious.
He sustained severe bruising to his back and head. He also received a cut to his arm.
The suspects ran away from the scene towards Blackheath Rise.
They are described as wearing dark clothing and having hoods up over their heads. Their faces were covered by scarves.
The victim was taken to a south London hospital and remains there in a stable condition.
Investigating officer Detective Constable Nick Bale said "This attack is very serious and has resulted in this young man remaining unconscious and in intensive care for several days.
“We would urgently like to speak to anyone who may have seen or heard anything which may help our inquiries.
“It is important we catch these offenders and bring piece of mind to the victim, his family and the community."
