CARING for a sick, frail or disabled loved one can be hard, and three in five people in the UK will be a carer at some point in their lives.
But caring can take its toll, leading to poor health, financial problems and social isolation.
Carers Week, aimed at making carers aware of what help and support is available to make their lives easier, runs from June 14 to June 20.
Bexley events include an information stand in Bexleyheath shopping centre from 10am to 3pm on June 14 with the Carers's Services team and voluntary groups will be on hand.
There is a carers lunch and quiz on June 15 from noon and a pamper day with taster therapies and information on June 17 from 10am to 3pm, both at Wolsey House, Maxin Road, Crayford.
To book a place at either event, call 01322 338582. And there will be a cream tea, pop-in and information day at the Pier Road centre, Erith, from 10.30am to 3pm, with infomation about finances, benefits and respite breaks.
