IT will be a testing time for four students from a Bexley school as they compete in the national finals of a maths competition.
Victoria Butterworth, Michelle Vero, Tanya Nour and Juliet Evans from Townley Girls’ Grammar School in Townley Road, Bexleyheath, won the regional finals held at St Olave’s Grammar School in Orpington, and will now compete against 80 other teams in the final.
Team Maths Challenge is run by the UK Mathematics Trust and involves 12 to 14-year-olds from across the UK.
They undertake a variety of tasks including practical maths problems, a relay race with maths, head-to-head mini-relay races, a mathematical crossword and designing a poster on a mathematical theme.
The finals take place in London on June 21.
