POLICE have dropped an investigation into an alleged kidnapping.
An inquiry was launched after a 32-year-old man claimed he had been tied up in a house in Brockwell Close, Petts Wood.
He was handcuffed and partially dressed when he banged on a pensioner’s front door at 4.15am on April 29, saying he needed help.
The man said he had been abducted in west London earlier that day before being brought to Petts Wood.
However, a Bromley police spokesman said: "The matter is not being investigated any further at this stage due to a number of inconsistencies in the victim's account, which is directly contradicted by the CCTV evidence recovered by the investigating officers.”
