A SIDCUP primary school is celebrating after scoring their way through the competition to win this year’s Stuart Turpin Cup.
The cup competition is named after teacher Stuart Turpin, a keen football coach who retired last year after 40 years in teaching.
New finalists Dulverton Primary School in Dulverton Road, won the knock-out competition after beating teams from Barnehurst Junior School and Birkbeck and St Pter Chanel primaries.
The final was fought out against Pelham Primary School, Bexleyheath, on a neutral ground at Longlands Primary School, and Dulverton won by four goals to one.
Bexley Sports Council instigated the cup competition in Mr Turpin’s name last year, and the first winners were another Sidcup school, Holy Trinity CofE Primary School in Burnt Oak Lane.
