NURSES were recognised for their hard work when a hospital celebrated International Nurses Day.
Staff at BMI Blackheath Hospital in Lee Terrace, Blackheath, enjoyed a special afternoon tea to mark the event.
They also received special fob watches for their commitment and exceptional levels of patient care.
Director of nursing at the hospital, Sue Jones, said: “The ability to reduce anxiety or fear, demonstrate compassion and always ensure dignity for each and every patient is something we are extremely proud of and are committed to seeing this continue to thrive.”
Other activities such as quizzes and special lunches have taken place at the hospital throughout May after the United Nations declared 2010 as the year of the nurse.
