A CHURCH is appealing for people to volunteer at a community summer fete.
St Nicholas Church in Purrett Road, Plumstead, will be hosting the event from 11am until 4pm in St Nicholas Gardens on July 10.
There will be fashion and jewellery stalls, a BBQ, raffle and painting for children.
ISK Karate club, which holds weekly lessons in the church hall, will be giving a demonstration and offering tips on self defence.
Event organiser, Vanessa Baffoe, said: “We are appealing for volunteers to come along and help us on the day. We can find something useful for anybody's talents.
“We really hope it will help to put the area on the map and paint a positive image of Plumstead.”
To volunteer, call Miss Baffoe on 07512902278.
